Easy to use.
I live in Calgary and have the Alberta Rockies in my backyard. We have loads of big grizzlies and black bears, along with all kinds of critters. I wanted the best protection for my food in the backcountry so I went with the Ursack Allmitey with an Opsak. Only one of the camping/outdoor supply stores carry Usack, and they only carry the Major, so I went straight through Ursack's site. The wait was short, but when I opened the Allmitey, no Opsak. Needless to say I was bummed, but I emailed Ursack and Courtney responded lightning fast!. She sent the Opsak out immediately and I had it within a week. Very few companies have customer service that quick and friendly. The product itself is amazing. Super strong and the knot tying Usack suggests (watch the tutorial) works like a charm. Don't hesitate, just buy an Ursack and be as happy as I am.
Big thank you to Courtney and all from Ursack!
New to solo hiking/camping in Ontario's Algonquin Backcountry, and focused on the perfect minimal/light weight gear setup.
I did my research AND have tested the Almighty in the field.
AND this product is PERFECT.
Torn between the Almighty and Major or Minor?
I am VERY Glad I choose the Almighty with OP sac.
In Ontario Backcountry we have both black bears and "little bears", and both are a problem. The Almighty deals with BOTH and with minimal addition of weight the amount of convenience added is well worth it.
The 21 inch size had MORE than enough room for all my food for a 7 day solo trip with room to spare.
It folds and packs into the inside of my pack or can be carried on the top of my pack using a y-strap.
My food is safe from "little bears" in camp on the ground, (hassle free camping) and I can easily hang the bag from a tree at night for bear safety knowing no squirrels or raccoon have a chance!! The bag also means if the hang fails, the bear is still safe.
AND the VERY BEST thing, often when I go on fall weekend trips, I don't get to the campsite until dark. So whenever hanging a bag is not possible such as in the rain, lack of appropriate trees limbs or after dark, I know I can tie the Almighty off to a tree as instructed and I am assured my food is safe, but much more importantly that the BEARS ARE SAFE FROM THE FOOD. The peace of mind is SO worth the weight and cost of the bag to me.
Worry free from food carry/storage issues all day and night!!
